
The company will deliver a Mobile Autonomous Uncrewed Lanemaker (MAUL) system built for faster, lower-risk reconnaissance, planning, clearance, proofing, and marking solutions.
CLARKSBURG, Md., September 9, 2026 — Forterra, the leader in autonomous mission systems, today announced it has been selected as a prime contractor for the U.S. Army's Engineer Autonomous Breaching Capability (EABC) program, a new effort to field autonomous obstacle reconnaissance, clearance, proofing, and marking systems for combat engineers.
Under the program, Forterra will deliver the Mobile Autonomous Uncrewed Lanemaker (MAUL). MAUL integrates combat proven AutoDrive, TerraLink and Vektor into a unified autonomous platform that enables integration of mission-specific payloads and rapid scaling to enable production.
MAUL is the latest system in Forterra’s multi-year focus on autonomous breaching. It is built on the AutoDrive autonomy stack, combat proven in Ukraine and in production with the Marine Corps. Forterra leveraged its Open Architecture for Secure Interoperable Systems (OASIS) Fabric, to deliver a flexible system that supports rapid delivery and continuous refinement without locking into a static architecture.
