The Army named Forterra one of six vendors to deliver production-ready autonomous systems for resupply, casualty evacuation, and network extension to the tactical edge.

CLARKSBURG, Md., August 11, 2026 — Forterra, the leader in autonomous mission systems for military operations in contested environments, today announced it was selected by the U.S. Army for the Infantry Last Tactical Mile (ILTM) initiative, an effort within the Army's mission autonomy portfolio to modernize infantry support on the battlefield.

Under ILTM, the Army is seeking production-ready prototype autonomous systems that support close combat formations with rapidly deployable resupply platforms. Those systems must also perform casualty evacuation and extend communications networks to units at the front.  

Forterra will bring its deployed and proven AutoDrive autonomy platform and Vektor communications system to the effort - the same combat-proven stack fielded on the company's Lancer vehicles. Under a U.S. government program, Forterra produced and delivered 105 Lancers to Ukrainian forces in under six months. In Ukraine, those vehicles have completed more than 1,400 logistics missions and 88 CASEVAC operations.
