Powering the Future of the Battlefield with a $238M Series C
Wars are won on the ground. Every missile, sensor and soldier depends on ground vehicles to move sensors, supplies and weapons. In the U.S., we are faced with limited manpower and industrial capacity while our opponents are betting on low-cost, autonomous mass. As a country we must focus on prioritizing resilient logistics and adopting technologies that multiply combat, enabling a more capable and agile force to preserve a decisive advantage.
What’s needed is a new class of cognitive mission systems—autonomous, interoperable, and intelligent platforms that act as force multipliers. Systems that can move, sense, and fight without rest. Systems that integrate seamlessly across fleets, payloads, and command structures. Systems that extend the reach and survivability of the force while reducing the burden on the warfighter.
This is the future Forterra is building and deploying today.
Today we are announcing our $238 million Series C comprised of both equity and debt. The round was led by Moore Strategic Ventures with participation from new investors Salesforce Ventures, Franklin Templeton, Balyasny Asset Management, 645 Ventures, Hanwha Asset Management, 9Yards Capital, RTX Ventures, and NightDragon alongside existing investors XYZ Venture Capital, Hedosophia and Enlightenment Capital. Doubling down on their investment into Forterra, Crescent Cove provided both equity and debt, showing continued support since Forterra’s Series A in 2021.
Autonomy is no longer optional; it’s an operational imperative. This funding accelerates our mission to be the connective tissue of modern operations. Our autonomous stack and interoperable mission modules are already enabling fleets to move, sense, and act without limits.
The financing will scale Forterra’s command, control, and communications offerings, and expand production of its edge compute and autonomy platform for defense applications, open new offices and enable rapid deployments of combat systems to warfighters.
Over the last four years, we have been quietly building real capabilities:
- The DoD’s first ground autonomy Program of Record, ROGUE Fires, delivers the only mobile, land-based, autonomous missile launcher in the U.S. arsenal.
- A $114M U.S. Army contract to field autonomous breaching systems
- Delivering against the Army’s UxS program for unmanned tactical platforms
- Advancement to Phase II of the Army’s GEARS program, a pathway to automating the Army’s heavy logistics fleet.
- Working incredible mission partners such as RTX’s Raytheon, BAE, Volvo Defense, CHAOS Industries, and others to deliver capabilities to our customers
These programs are part of a broader transformation: defense customers are demanding systems that are intelligent, modular, and interoperable across complex command structures in every domain.
As we scale the fielding of systems across the globe, we are focused on a singular vision. Build incredible, low cost, autonomous systems for our users and ensure the West has the technology it needs to deter the next war.
